Vulnerable real talk: I woke up yesterday morning feeling a little down on mysel…

Vulnerable real talk: I woke up yesterday morning feeling a little down on myself about indulging too much over the weekend. I honestly haven’t had these sort of feelings creep up since embracing a intuitive eating, habits-based approach to health during the process of healing from hypothalamic amenorrhea. And it felt pretty awful.
I wasn’t going to share because as a health coach I should have all this stuff figured out (right?) BUT I don’t think food guilt is talked about enough. It’s a real thing and it’s something that affects a lot of women – especially those of us who have a history of dieting, are currently trying to lose weight or health-focused. At some points you feel like you’re totally over feeling guilty about what you eat, but occasionlly the feelings creep back in — like what happened to me after this weekend.
Luckily these days I can recognize the negative feelings and choose to focus on the postive (I had an amazing weekend celebrating my BF) and move on rather than feeling like I have to restrict myself to reverse the “damage” I did. 🙅🏻‍♀️
Yes, I might be a bit bloated and feeling a bit heavy, but I know that my body will balance out pretty quickly. My plan for the next few days is to get more sleep 🛏, drink plenty of water 💦, drink a little ACV each morning 🍎, eat my one #saladeveryday 🥗 and get back to my regular workout routine. 💪🏼Just simple, healthy habits that make me feel my best! Cheers to a positive mindset and a balanced approach to healthy living. ✨💃🏻💯

  • Wow this was so me a few days ago too!!! Felt a bit down at first for feeling bloated after overindulging for my mother-in-law’s birthday even though it was on healthy treats and snacks!! No use beating ourselves up, when 99% of the time we eat clean and work out! Thank you for this post and your honesty! ❤

  • I love this post. As a recovered from an Eating Disorder, it’s nice to see even health coaches have bad days, but still get back up! Thank you!
