Olivia’s birth story is up #ontheblog! ❤️ Let me tell ya, it totally brings new meaning to the term “coming in hot” considering when we arrived to the hospital I was fully dilated with my water bag bulging and ready to push. ✨💦 It was so fast that my doula didn’t even make it in time, but Isaac was by my side supporting me the whole way through. 💛
Not sure if it was the dates, acupuncture or all the walking I did while pregnant, but I’m so thankful for a short labor and delivery… only about 13 hours totalidade and 15 minutes of pushing! 👏👏👏
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After finding out about Olivia’s heart condition at 33 weeks my entire birth plan had to change and everything felt out of my control, but as soon as labor started, I tuned into my body and in the end, Olivia’s birth turned out exactly how I envisioned it… besides the 1 hour car ride in active labor 😂 (swipe right to see a video of me breathing through it by closing my eyes and gripping the car handle). I was able to labor at home for most of it, I didn’t have to be continuously monitored at the hospital for a long time and I was able to safely have a unmedicated, vaginal delivery.
The best part, Olivia is here and we couldn’t be more in love. She came out super fast, bright eyed and so alert, with a head full of hair. 👶🏻 Read the full birth story with all the details (including whether or not I pooped while pushing 💩🙈) and see the cute video Isaac and I made for Olivia over on the blog. 💗 Link is in my bio @eatingbirdfood
