Cauliflower strikes again. This time as a quick and easy #lowcarbswap for grits! Both of these shrimp & grits dishes are full of flavor, but the cauliflower grits have 1/3 of the carbs, plus you’re getting double the fiber and all the vitamins and minerals from the cauliflower. 🍤💃🏻💯

I eat a balanced, healthy diet and no foods are off limits (including carbs) but I am mindful about my sugar intake and try to limit high-carb foods that aren’t nutrient-dense because they usually cause the “hidden sugar effect” – when carbohydrates convert to sugar when digested. You don’t see the sugar, but your body does. Even foods that don’t seem sweet or sugary (i.e. bagels) have carbs that effect you the way teaspoons of sugar would when they are absorbed by our bodies! .
